Jasmine Tea

We all know the nice fragrance of the jasmine flower pouring its scent in the summer evenings and its beautiful white blossoms. We all know the scent of the jasmine tea that gives us refreshment no matter what time of the day is. But do we all know how the jasmine tea actually is produced? Below you can find some more information on the topic.
Jasmine tea, as the tea itself, comes from China and originates between 10th and 13th century. It is the most famous tea in China. Usually it is based on green or white tea and it tastes slightly sweet.
Jasmine tea is produced as the jasmine flowers are mixed with tea leaves. The flowers of jasmine are picked in the early summer when they blossom. A peculiarity of the jasmine flower is that it opens in the evening and closes during the day to protect itself from the higher daily temperatures. That’s why the jasmine blossoms are usually picked up in the morning when they are already closed and are stored on cool place whole day.
In the evening, when they begin to open, the blooms are mixed with the tea leaves and are kept this way all night. When blossom opens, it gives its entire aroma to the tea. Usually four hours are enough the tea to take the jasmine scent. The above mentioned process can be repeated up to 7 times. The jasmine flowers can be removed from the already prepared jasmine tea, but it’s not obligatory. The blossoms are absolutely dry and they no more contain any aroma.
After that treatment the jasmine tea is ready for consumption. Although it doesn’t have any healing potential, jasmine tea still is amongst the more spread flavored teas worldwide. Enjoy it every time you need refreshment and remember the jasmine scented summer nights.
