Blooming Tea – Let the Beauty in Your Home

Blooming tea (or also called flowering tea) is one of the most beautiful things your home can enjoy. The blooming tea bundles, combining different flowers and various types of tea, blossom in fabulous colors and shapes just in front of your amazed eyes. But let’s start from the beginning. What’s blooming tea, what is it made from and how?

Unlike tea, which is “discovered” in the era before Christ, blooming tea is a product of our time. It is believed that its “beginning” was in the 80s of the 20th century. Just as the tea, the bundles for the blooming tea usually come from China.

Blooming tea consists of a dried leaves of tea that are packed in small bundle with the help of cotton thread. When put into water, the bundle starts to open and looks like if it’s just blossoming at the moment. To be able to enjoy that beautiful moment, you need a transparent container for water (a glass or transparent plastic kettle, teapot, cup or jug, etc.). You just have to put the bundle in the container filled with water and to observe its flowering. It’s amazing…

The bundle consists not only of dried tea leaves, but of dried flowers too. The tea leaves give the aroma and the taste of the tea while the flower leaves give the beauty of the blooming tea. Usually the flowers that are used are jasmine, chrysanthemum, lily, globe amaranth, osmanthus and hibiscus. There are a lot of combination between the type of tea (green, white, black, etc.) and the flowers, so you can choose your bundles both on your taste for tea and beauty.

When the bundle blossoms, it stays this way for a long, long time. There is no need to throw it out when the water in the container is over. The blooming tea bundles can be usually used several times and that doesn’t affect negatively the taste and fragrance qualities of the tea. Just pour water in the vessel and enjoy the beauty of the blooming tea.
